When was the last time you pampered yourself and treated yourself to a glam photo shoot? It seems the answer to this question is more often “never” or “it’s been years.” This behind the scenes shows how Allison H. took some time to refresh, relax and get pampered at our Hip Chick Photography Studio. Our hairstylist Jenny Brown and Makeup Artist Vita D’Alto provided the finishing touches on this already stunning diva. I enjoyed covering some behind the scenes of this awesome photo shoot. The final images created by Odell Guynes are shown just below. Enjoy and let us know if we can book a Glam Session for you.
My husband Odell and I each have our own unique styles of shooting. He’s an amazing photographer. Very technical and uses lots of light modifiers to get his formula just right. I’m more of a gal who likes the raw emotion that I can capture with natural light. I had the opportunity to partner up with Odell on a recent shoot. I figured “Hey! What a great time to try my hand at dressmaking.” I’ve been fascinated with Sue Bryce and her frocks so to the fabric store I marched. I made a beautiful dress. Yes it’s a bit rough around the edges but the final product is just stunning behind the lens. I even shot some photos with the strip lights and modifiers.
This shoot was very exciting as Odell is working on some top secret fine art pieces for Raw Artists: The Awakening. A cocktail and arts event coming to Charlotte, February 20th at the Tremont Music Hall. I can’t show you the finished work. But I can tell you it is breathtaking. You can come out to support Odell and 40 other artists that will be featured at RAW Artist. It’s going to be fabulous.
Here’s the amazing-ness that I was able to capture while behind the scenes with Odell Guynes. Special thank you to our beautiful model Leanna Haggist and our talented crew. Jenny Brown styled the beautiful hair and the swoon worthy makeup by Susan Hearn. Do you love this shoot? We’d love to hear your thoughts. Leave your comments below.
Baby Q was such a joy to have in our studio. At just 10 days old she really knows how to rock a newborn photography session. Her sweet sleepiness lasted most of the shoot and when she was ready for us to stop she let us know. I mean look at the hair; only a true rock star can get away with wild hair and a gorgeous face like that. Her sweet little toes and silky hair on her back were just enough to make you want to snuggle with her forever.Thank you Baby Q for making our week. We truly enjoyed every moment of this shoot. Want to book a session for you or your baby? As a newborn photographer what I love even more than photographing newborns is watching them grow and being able to capture it through my lens. Baby S was such a cutie pie as a newborn so much hair and such a personality. He has grown into such an adorable little boy. We enjoyed photographing his one year old birthday cake smash! He had such a good time and smiled adorably for the camera! How quickly a year goes by.
As a newborn photographer I get to do an amazing work. I get to be creative, inspired and share such a wonderful time in a family’s life. I love what I do everyday! Photographing these amazing babies and capturing these special moments. Yes they may at times get feisty, and they do pee and poop all over me. ;-) Maybe they even cry a bit. But I wouldn’t change my job for anything in the world. All the cuddles, smiles and lovely newborn goodness is worth it. I love watching mom and dad when they open up their canvas or portraits they ordered and the look they have in their eyes makes it worth every minute. Enjoy some of this year’s favorite little ones! If I can help you with scheduling a session please feel free to email or call me.
